How to PING a Decoder

Modified on Wed, 13 Nov at 6:13 PM

If a Station shows a 2-Wire or Station-related Error on the Dashboard, testing the decoder (PING) can validate it is a current issue.

Note: Use PING for the following errors:

  • 1000 - 2-Wire Timeout (Decoder failed to respond because it's disconnected or doesn't exist)
  • 1001 - 2-Wire Communication Error (Decoder communication issue that is 2-Wire path related)
  • 2000 - Object Not Found (Something incorrect in decoder/station set up. Does this station have a decoder?)
  • 3000 - Line Unit Failure Detected
    • NG's - decoder encountered issue with on/off & will report specific issue
    • Legacy - controller did not detect decoder activation via Power Profile. Check decoder, splice & solenoid.
  1. From dashboard, click A black background with a black square

Description automatically generated with medium confidence (Stations)
  2. Click ERROR
  3. Select next to the station you want to test
  4. In station actions window click IO
  5. Click PING in the bottom left corner
  6. If error has resolved, no message will show
  7. If error remains, a message with error code will show.
