Step 1 - Identify the Fault: Controller or Field Installation

Modified on Fri, 24 Jan at 11:29 AM

A slow responding controller, erratic station behavior, or an active short circuit/overcurrent alarm can indicate a 2-Wire issue. The first step in troubleshooting a 2-Wire issue is to isolate the problem between the controller and the 2-Wire path.

Note: You will need a small flathead screwdriver & access to the controller for this step

  1.  Disconnect the 2-Wire path at the controller terminals (Line 1A/1B, 2A/2B)

  2.  Observe what happens to the Line Lights/Operation
    • If the controller returns to normal operation, your problem is in field (2-Wire path).
    • If the controller does not return to normal operation, you may have a compromised controller. Contact Tucor support at (724) 935-6850.
  3.  If the issue has been isolated as a problem in the field, reconnect the 2-Wire path and proceed with Step 2.
