Add a Simple Start Time to a Program

Modified on Thu, 14 Nov at 11:32 AM

The NLP uses Water Windows to organize the time, day & time of year a program will run in a flexible, calendar-based format. Use this walkthrough as a brief explanation for adding a simple "Start Time" style Water Window to a program.

This walkthrough will create a basic water window running Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, year round, starting at 7:30 AM and ending(1) at 1:00 PM.

  1. Navigate to   Irrigation ControllerPrograms
  2. Click  on the relevant program
  3. Click when under the START TIMES menu
  4. Deselect T, T, and S. (all days of the week are selected by default). Selected days are highlighted in Bold
  5. Under Odd/even, confirm the default says Any
  6. Under From hour type 7 and From minute type 30
  7. Under To hour (incl) type 13 and keep To minute as 0 (times are in military format)
  8. Click CREATE

Additional notes on Water Windows:

  • The NLP can accommodate up to 100 water windows. This can be spread across programs (up to 50) or concentrated in a single program.
  • Default water window begins at midnight (00:00) and end at midnight (00:00) (permitted run 24 hours), runs every day of the week & year-round.
  • A program can run > 24 hours by overriding stop time
  • A Water Window can run via days of the week, Odd/Even dates, or a combination of methods.

(1)  To create a water window with no stop time, enable the Ignore stop time flag in the main Program menu.
