Adding Runtimes via Steps in the NLP

Modified on Thu, 14 Nov at 1:01 PM

The NLP uses step-based program building as a flexible way to allocate runtimes to a station, group of stations, or all stations. A step is a way to organize a station or group of stations with a shared runtime. A step-based program format is especially helpful for:

  • Simultaneous station run
  • Repeated station run
  • Re-ordered station run
  • Grouping stations by a shared runtime

  1. Navigate to   Irrigation ControllerPrograms
  2. Click  on the relevant program
  3. Select STEPS
  4. Select to add the first step
  5. Station is the default Target type. Group (Station Group) or All (All Stations) are other options
  6. Under Station find the station you'd like to add run time to
  7. Time is the default Type. Other options include, in (run in inches), MAD, Learn Flow & Verify Flow
  8. Add time a station can run from 1 second* to 17 Hours 59 Minutes & 59 seconds.
  9. Select CREATE. You can now see your first step.
  10. To add a step below, select the  on the last step. To add a step to the stop, select the  in the header row.

Note: The NLP will automatically limit station run via Hydraulic (must be set) or Station limits (default 10) in the controller. To limit station run in a program, use a setting called Wait CompletionWait Completion can be enabled for a single step or all steps and limits a program run to one or a select few stations to run simultaneously.

*For most 2-Wire installations, a minimum of 3 seconds is recommended.
